Antonina Shevchenko
Antonina Shevchenko is the Kyrgyzstani and Peruvian Muay fighter from Thailand and mixed martial artist currently competing with the Flyweight Division in the UFC. She is the younger sister of her fellow UFC fighter and the former UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko began her professional journey as an Muay Thai kickboxer. She first made an appearance in 2003 at the IFMA World Championship Tournament. Shevchenko was the winner of this tournament, beating Suzane Mill in the finals via a majority verdict. Antonina followed it up and took home a silver in 2007, a bronze in 2008 and a gold award in 2011, and was the 2015 IFMA Amateur Muay Thailand World Champion. Antonia started her professional career in 2003. She was the winner of the WKC K-1 World Light Welterweight Championships in 2012 as well as the Lightweight Lion Fight Championships in 2016 as well as both the WMC World Championships and Phoenix FC World Championships 2016. Antonina's most recent fight took place against Isa Keskikangas of the Phoenix Fighting Championship. She took the fight by the unanimous verdict. Antonina Shychenko's professional MMA debut was in 2002, in the KFK Cup event of Kyrgystan when she faced Anara Bayanova. She won with a TKO at the end of second round. She went on to win her 2 next fights at WXF X-Impact World Championships, 2003. This gave her three wins in her MMA career. Shevchenko went on a hiatus from MMA to work on kickboxing. She returned to the ring against Anissa Haddaoui at Phoenix FC 3 in 2017. Shevchenko beat Anissa in a unanimously-decided match, before she fought Valerie Domergue in Phoenix FC 4. She resigned from the organization and began Dana White's Contender Series 2018. Shevchenko knocked out Jaimelene Nievera during Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11 Antonina's striking skills were superior and permitted her to TKO Nievera via knees in the body. Antonina's UFC contract was extended in the wake of this victory. Antonina was given an UFC contract after winning. Shevchenko beat Roxanne Modafferi via split decision fight following her first fight with a unanimous verdict. Antonina bounced back from the defeat and beat Lucie Pudilova during UFC on ESPN Covington vs. Lawler via second-round rear-naked choke and won the fight of the night bonus in the fight. Shevchenko fell to Katlyn Cookagian, but she was able to defeat Ariane Lipski's three bouts. Then, Antonina suffered defeat to Casey O'Neill at UFC Fight Night Santos vs. Walker via second-round TKO.
