Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on the 26th of March in 1991. She is an American singer-songwriter and the first artist signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. Dreamville Records released her debut EP titled Pho in October 2016, and she was able getting noticed. Shea Butter Baby released her first album of studio work on 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox first posted songs online in the year 2012. The singer released her debut album Ariography and debut mixtape in 2013 with Five Finger Discount. Ari Lennox continued to post her songs online, as well as her own single Bound. The 21st of July, 2015 was the day she was featured on Omen's album Elephant Eyes on the track Sweat it Out. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew at that time and wanted her to work on Rihanna and Rihanna-related songs. She was officially signed by Dreamville Records on 8 December. The singer appeared on the album collaboratively titled Revenge of the Dreamers II featuring the track Backseat Cozz. In October 21st, 2016 her debut EP was released, titled Pho. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as opening the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. She was supported by EarthGang. She also appeared in two songs with the EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song and Bas's Icarus. Ari Lennox's debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on 16 July 2018. The first single, Whipped Cream, from the album dropped on in September 5th, 2018, accompanied by a an accompanying music video. Then, on the 9th of November 2018 the singer released two more singles called 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). Then, on November 13 the singer released two new singles, titled One and Pdigree. One and Pdigree. Shea Butter Baby was released as her first single on the 26th of February, 2019, to accompany the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby performed along with Cole as part of her Creed II sound track on the 16th of November. The track was made available with a video uploaded to YouTube on February 20, 2019, was watched more than 3 million times within the first 7 days. In support of the track, she toured with 6LACK during December 2018 on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour.
